Sometimes I think the early church fathers missed a chance to better describe the Trinity. All of the major creeds—The Apostles, Nicene, Athanasian—infer that God is three-in-one; Father, Son and Spirit. Yet they go on to describe them as pretty much different entities. How better would it have been to simply say, for example in the Apostles Creed:
"I believe in God as the Father Almighty....
"I believe in God as Jesus Christ the only Son...
"I believe in God as the Holy Spirit..."
